Qatar's MASTERPLAN To Dominate The World

FIFA world cup 2018 Host - Russia And to host this world cup, Russia spent $11. 6 billion. FIFA world cup 2022 Host - Qatar And this time, $220 billion were spent, which is more than than 8% of India's GDP. If you think it is less, just have a look at this number. But the interesting part was not money but its use. So much money was spent on something that today no one would even ask! Very few people know but Qatar is such a country, which has a population of just 30 lakhs, and the thing is that people don't like football that much! But the most important thing over here is just by hosting a world cup and spending $220 billion, Qatar is planning to dominating thew world.

Imagine, you get a treasure and you get rich suddenly, all your problems disappears quickly. Now you can give the life to your parents which you imagined always. No need to do job, No need to listen someone, rather great people are coming to you, but suddenly you come to know that the treasure you got, won't be relevant after a few years. Qatar has a similar story. Their actual game plan is to spend money and get everything before it gets too late. Have a look at this chart very very carefully. This is the chart of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Which says every person has some needs.

And there is a hierarchy of those needs. Like first of all, physical needs comes such as food, cloth and house. After which security needs come like house and employment. And then comes emotional needs come like love and friendship. Every nation of this world is called under developed, developing and developed on these needs. For example, in US physical and security needs are complete. In-fact, their physical needs also get completed. That is the reason, USA is called a developed nation today.

While on the other hand, there are many such countries of South Africa, where people crave for food and water. That is the reason we call many countries of South Africa under developed. Similarly in 1971 when Qatar got independence from Britishers, at that time, people in Qatar were able to fulfill their physical needs. I know what you are thinking, that Qatar had oil and Britishers came to Qatar for the same, then why did Qatar remain a poor country? See, oil was discovered in Qatar in 1931. And world war 2 was also started at that time. And Britishers played a major role in it. As a result of which Britishers didn't get time to build infrastructure for oil extraction.

Moreover they were spending a lot of time in world war 2, they didn't have enough fund to build infrastructure for oil extraction. Due to which the infrastructure for oil extraction was built in 1940s. Now you must be thinking, the good days of Qatar must have started. But, nothing like this happened. See, most of us think that all Arab countries got rich because of oil. But this is partially true. Because when Qatar got independence from Britishers, Qatar was not the only country that had oil rather all Arab countries had oil. In-fact other Arab countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq, had more oil compared to Qatar.

So in terms of business, for every oil extraction company like Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq, setting oil infrastructure in these countries was more profitable compared to Qatar. Due to which no infrastructure of that level was ever built in Qatar. I know what you are thinking, that if Qatar had no money at that time had no infrastructure for oil, then how did it become such a powerful country? You remember, I talked about treasure in the starting? So yes, Qatar got his treasure in the form of largest natural gas reserve in this world. But but but there is a twist in the story, when Qatar got the natural gas reserve, at that time, they didn't pay attention to it. And this was because of these three reasons. No.

1 -Almost zero requirement. You see, when Qatar got its gas reserve in 1970s, world was using oil as a fuel source. So, at that time Qatar focused on exporting oil instead of gas. No. 2 - Cost of Transfer. You see, the volume of gas is much more than liquid. Because of which, transferring gas through ships was not economical. Moreover, setting up gas pipelines was also not economical.

Because there was not that much demand of gas, and the cost of building those pipelines was high. No. 3 - Oil was everything. At that time, no one in Qatar knew the importance of gas. In-fact they got the gas reserve while searching for oil. But from here, everything was about to change for Qatar. Till now, Qatar’s economy was dependent on just oil. But in 1980s, the prices of oil starts crashing.

And so did the Qatar’s economy. And from this incident, Qatar learnt a big lesson. That was, you should never depend on a single asset, no matter how profitable it is. So, you need to diversify. In 1990s Qatar started paying attention to its gas reserves, because till that time, the tech of liquifying the gas had been developed. So now, Qatar could transfer gas in containers like oil. And cherry on the cake, at that time prices of natural gas was skyrocketing, because it produce 50% less CO2 than coal and 30% less CO2 than oil. So globally, it became an environment friendly alternative!

And now it was possible to transfer gas by liquifying it in containers. So within no time, gas became the new oil.  In 1955, Hamad Bil Khalifa Al-Tani, he over threw his father and this was the place, from where Qatar’s real journey was about to start. Next year, in 1965, Qatar started exporting gas by liquifying it. Very few of us that Qatar is a very small country. If we compare it to India, India's smallest state Goa is 0. 32x of Qatar, means Goa is much bigger than Qatar. Now the matter of fact was Qatar got a lot of money because of gas, but no one was recognizing it globally.

No needed, they needed international influence. And this is why they got FIFA 2022 hosted in Qatar by spending $220 billion. I know what you are thinking, it is just a FIFA world cup, not a big deal. In-fact every year, a lot of sport events happen in the world. Then why only, FIFA world up. See, FIFA world cup is world's biggest sport event. And when a country host FIFA world cup then during the time of that world cup the attention of whole world is on that country. Because a lot of businessman, politicians and influencers come from every corner of the world.

Not because they love football. But because FIFA world cup is such an event where they also know that they will meet world's most powerful people. Now the interesting thing is before hosting FIFA 2022, Qatar was one of the most rich countries of this world. In-fact if you look at the data, you will realize Qatar’s per capita income is $61k i. e 50 lakh rupees. And the reality is this per capita income has become a problem for its people. See, only 30 lakh people live in Qatar. Out of which only 10% people are qataris, rest are immigrants.

Means they have come from outside to work there. Now the thing is, if the country wants the people from outside to come there for work, then having a positive image for that country is very important. Would you like to go in such a country where there is monarchy, where a son dethrone his father my making a plan, where there are very inhuman conditions for immigrant workers. Off-course not. So, to bring out a positive image in front of the world, Qatar hosted FIFA world cup 2022. In-fact many people came to know about FIFA as a country after this world cup. In 2016, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and UAE put sanctions on Qatar, accusing them of supporting terrorist groups, and moreover there is monarchy in Qatar. Elections happen but just to show, without any opposition.

So that people think that Qatar is a free country. So that more and more people come to Qatar for work. But wait, people work for money, what would they do with positive image? Give more money and people will work for you! Right? In majority cases, this is true. But there is such a class of people whom you can't buy through money. And that is 'The army'.

Look at this map. Qatar is a very small country. Which is surrounded by the countries with bad relations. Even Saudi Arabia has threatened to break the border between Saudi Arabia and Qatar and make Qatar an island. Such a country which has a very limited population, and the army of which has just 22k person, that country has to depend on other powerful countries for support. And that is the reason, US army has the biggest base in Qatar in the middle east. Now try to understand this. Qatar has money but because of which thing?

Because of their oil and gas reserves, which will end after a period of time. So now, this is what they did to overcome this. Look at this chart, because of Russia Ukraine war the prices of crude oil have gone very high in the whole world. It has crossed from $88/barrel to $100/barrel. And where the goal of most of the people was to become carbon neutral, not their goal has become to shift to green energy from 2030-2040. When because of Russia-Ukraine war, the price of crude oil has touched $100/barrel, it impacted the whole world. Because this caused inflation. You see when the price of crude oil goes high, then the transportation becomes expensive.

And when the transportation charges increases, that thing becomes expensive in the market. And this thing leads to a domino effect. There is another alarm bell being sounded off on global recession. [We will be flagging that the risks of recession is rising]. Just see this chart very very carefully. When inflation happens, banks increases the bank rates, so that people take less loan. And when people take less loans, they would spend less. And it results economic slowdown for sometime.

But the longer it carries on, the faster recession hits. So you see, every country has understood that the quicker they decrease their dependency on fossil fuels, the quicker they would be able to grow. And Qatar had understood it very early, that within no time, people won't depend on oil and gas. So this is what Qatar did. They started gaining power through investment. They first started investing the money they earned from the oil in those countries, which are highly tourism centric like France, Italy, Spain, Dubai etc. And along-with it, Qatar started investing in such countries which are very influential. Like Russia, UK, US by buying luxury hotels, real estate, luxury brands, even construction companies.

But the question is why does Qatar wants to grow their economies by investing there? Well, for these five reasons. No. 1 - Reach. When Qatar invests in luxury and expensive things, then it automatically reaches powerful and influential people. Like Qatar bought 11% stake in Tiffany which the world's biggest jewellery brand. So you see, only powerful and influential people its jewellery. No.

2 - Increased control. By investing in majority stakes in companies of other companies Qatar can compel them to agree their terms. So you see, this gives them more control. No. 3 - Global recognition. Qatar gets a global platform through these investments, where they can stand themselves. Like Qatar owns world's seventh most valuable football club Paris-Saint German club! So when this club plays anywhere, it represents Qatar on international stage.

No. 4 - Trust. There is no democracy in Arab countries, rather they follow monarchy. So every leader who is ruling the country, they have fear the overthrowing by someone, so this is very important for them to have the support of local people, means to have the support of people of country. So whenever the people of the country see, that their leader is investing in many countries worldwide, so they tend to support them. Fifth and most importantly, scope for investments. Qatar knows that if it has to survive in long term then it need investment from foreign countries. And for this, they have to represent themselves as a global brand internationally.

The Qatar investment authority whose Qatar's sovereign wealth fund manage assets worth $338 billion. It is so much money that if it is divided equally in Qatar’s population, every person would get $1. 4 million. Qatar invest in real estate companies of world's most influential and powerful countries. Like USA which includes 10% stake in the Empire State Reality Trust. The trust which owns Empires State Building. In-fact Qatar has invested heavily in UK's real estate companies. Would you agree, Qatar has more property in England than the queen of England?

I repeat, Qatar has more property in England than the queen of England! Qatar is the biggest real estate owner in London. So in future, if Qatar asks any help from UK, then UK government is compelled to help Qatar. And through these investments, Qatar is increasing its dominance in global politics. And I'll tell you why? Because these investments gives these four assurance to Qatar. No. 1 - Assurance of presence.

Because of investing in so many countries, Qatar has an assurance that they have global dominance. This is why any country can't ignore Qatar. No. 2 - Assurance of securities. By investing a lot of money, they also get the assurance of security. Because every country where Qatar has invested a lot of money there, they can never take Qatar lightly. So, they will always protect Qatar. No.

3 - Assurance of future. By doing such investments, Qatar has secured his investments, because they know, when there would be less dependancy on oil and gas, still it won't Qatar. And fourth and most importantly, assurance of assistance. Because Qatar has invested a lot of money in many countries, so whenever they need help from a country, because of those hefty investments, because of the employment they are creating because of those hefty investments, those countries would support Qatar. They can't pull back. Now many people must be thinking, that Qatar is increasing its global dominance by investments, this thing is very evil, and in future, they can misuse it. If this is true, why are other countries not doing anything about this? Now look at this very very carefully.

China uses debt trap policy. China gives loan to such countries which can't repay. After which Chinese company take over those projects in that country. So technically, the loan amount comes back to China. And that country gets stuck in debt trap. Due to which most of the countries in the world see china as an evil country. While on the other hand, in such a scenario when a country like Qatar makes an investment, without any terrific demands. then people see it as a good thing.

Because there is a huge demand in doing investment and giving loans. When you are giving loan, you have to pay that money back, whereas when you are making an investment, that you trust the other party with your money, and this is how Qatar is increasing its global dominance. Because what they are doing is not just benefiting them, but also benefiting the nation where they do investments.
