Suppose you are going to the office. It's your first day in the office, and you are in a hurry. You stop the car at a red light, and then suddenly a woman comes to you with a kid. "I've got to feed my kid," she says.  the child has not eaten anything since morning; help us. You melt. Your heart melts.

You take out a 100-rupee note and give it to her, but the question is, why did you give her so much money? Who was that lady? After all, what did you see in that woman that prompted you to give her money despite not knowing her or speaking with her?
I know what you are thinking. That woman was a beggar. She was compulsive about her condition. She was poor. She was asking for money to feed her child. I helped her.

What did I do wrong? But what if I say that reality is completely different? When I saw the innocent child to whom you gave money, I knew it was not her child. Begging has been declared a crime in cities such as Delhi and Mumbai under the Bombay Prevention of Begging Act! These beggars cause a lot of congestion at traffic lights. According to this law, whoever is seen begging will be arrested and taken to a special court, i.e., Beggars Court. And if found guilty, they will be sent to special institutions, i.e., beggars' homes. But in 2021, the Supreme Court rejected the Bombay Begging Act 1959, saying that in a country where the government is unable to fulfill even the basic needs of the people, how can begging be a crime there? People do beg for their needs.

According to a survey of 25k beggars conducted by The Hindu, a beggar earns 500 rupees per day. According to a census from 2011, there are 4,13,670 beggars. By 2015, the same number had increased to half a million. I know what you are thinking.

If the Indian economy is developing this much, then why is the number of beggars increasing in our country? Who is responsible for all this? government or common people like you and me? or those people who have made it a full-fledged business. Those people who take advantage of other people's helplessness and push them into this

Have you ever thought that when you give money to those whom you consider innocent, where does that money go from there? Are those people really being helped? No! Absolutely not! and there are big reasons for it. To understand we must first understand, namely, why people beg, According to section 2(1) of the BPBA, beggars are those who have no means of subsistence. Those people who are without food and drink! In other words, beggars beg in order to eat, have a little money, wear clothes, or find shelter. i.e., food, cloth, and house. But there is more to it. You'll find three types of beggars. No. 1: Those who have no choice. Their condition had become so bad that they had no choice left. Its first reason is poverty and unemployment.

There is so much poverty, and no one is providing them with work, so they have no choice but to beg. Secondly, physical disability Maybe that person has a physical disability. any kind of physical disability, due to which he is not able to earn. According to one report, 30% of beggars in the Delhi-NCR region are physically disabled.

Third, natural catastrophes It may happen that due to a flood, earthquake, or another natural calamity, his house and business are ruined because he is left with no option other than begging. And fourth, psychological factors There are some people who don't want to work. Furthermore, many people are compelled to beg as a result of some kind of frustration or mental disorder. Now comes the second category of beggars.

people who are deliberately forced into this thing by others for their own profit. means people who are forced to do this. Has it ever happened to you that you are going to the mall or cinema hall, and you are surrounded by many children on the way asking for money? You offer food; they deny it. You give them some money, and they refuse.

They want more. Unless you give them money, they don't leave you! And in most cases, people give them money to get rid of them. And this is what they want. They get tired and give them money.

Have you ever wondered why these people do not leave you? I'll show you something. Look at this data very carefully. According to a report by the NHRC, in India, more than 40 thousand children are abducted every year. Out of these, more than 25% of the children, i.e., 10k children, are such that they are never found. I know what you are thinking. Where do all these children go? Now, look at this very very carefully. This is what India's beggarly racket looks like. Beggar mafias prepare controllers at different places under them. They use these four things to push the kids in this direction. These children are sold far away to begging mafias or to terror groups. And how does this occur? Well, step one is the strategy. Proper strategies are used to bring in and retain these children so that even after they come, they know what's going on with them.

Even then, they could not even think of leaving it all. No. 1: Luring them. Trapping children by giving them something to eat or by saying something Number two: kidnapping. 3: Renting children from parents. Many such children exist in India, where parents are given money and children are taken on rent. And after that, those children are made to do the work of beggars. Step 2: Controlling Two things are used to control these kids. No. 1: Dangers Some kids are bullied.

They forced them to beg. Children who do not comply with this rule are physically abused. And when left with no other option, those children are forced to get ready to work for these begging mafias. Police have arrested many such doctors; they deliberately make those children medically handicapped and sell them to mafias.

so that they can get the maximum profit out of these children. Just think of it. You are purposefully destroying a person's body in order for him to benefit the most and you to profit the most. The children are trained in a special way so that they can collect a maximum profit for these kids. And then comes the last step. Location Selection.

If you observe very carefully, you will find the most beggars where people have the least amount of time to spend. And there's a very good reason for it. Time-value equation. Suppose you are sitting in a park and a beggar comes to you. He begs you And you have plenty of time to entertain him.

There are very high chances that you'll keep sitting with him but won't give him money. And you'll notice that, despite his best efforts, that person was unable to achieve his objective. Why? Why did it happen? Super simple. because you had plenty of time to entertain it. Whereas if you are going to the mall or have to go to watch a movie, at that time, you have very little time. And in that case, if a beggar sticks to you, you'll do all you can to get rid of him. Because you need to get to the movie theatre on time.or else you'll miss the movie. Hardly anyone knows that more than 90% of people in India earn less than 25,000 a month! Furthermore, 65% of India's population earns less than Rs. 15000 per month. But the interesting thing is, there are many such beggars inside India who earn from $20 to 25,000 in a month! means more than the majority of Indians.

Why? We find these people very helpless! We give money to them even if we don't want to. But if I tell you that there are some beggars who earn more than you and me, then you will not believe me. This is Bharat Jain, who earns between 70 and 75 thousand rupees a month. This is Laxmi Devi, who has been begging since the age of 16. And according to many reports, she has built a huge bank balance. Pappu Kumar, was involved in an accident and lost his leg.

After this, he started begging. And according to the reports, he has assets worth more than Rs. 2,000 crores in Patna. But the question is, how are these beggars able to earn so much money? Well, the answer is human psychology. These beggars understand psychology better than you! And that is the reason you put money in their hands, even if you don't want to. Now, see how this happens.

woman with babies. You must have seen many times that on roads and at red lights, you see women who have a child in their hands. Very helpless. I must feed the child. Son, please help! And you help them, thinking that the money I am giving them is being given for their help. But wait a minute. Have you ever asked yourself this question: Why is the child in every woman's hand always seen sleeping? Have you ever wondered why that child appeared helpless and hungry for so long?

I know what you are thinking. When that child has been hungry for so many days and has not eaten anything, he will appear helpless and hungry. Well, that's not true. because reality is different.

The woman holding the child does not abandon these children as well. They are deliberately given such medicines so that the child keeps sleeping, its weight decreases, and the child becomes very light so that the woman can carry him from one place to another. You know how hard it is to carry a crying baby.

So, they are given medicines deliberately. First of all, either these kids are bought from human traffickers or they are taken in on rent from their parents, after which these children are given anesthesia. Due to this, the weight of these children also decreases, and they keep sleeping. And it is easy for women to carry these children from one place to another.

The process of begging that child then begins. Your eyes fall on that woman and on that child. And you are hooked. If you deny and offer food, that lady will ask you to get milk powder or milk. And that, too, from a specific shop. You go get her milk, and after that, that lady goes from there. You believe in your abilities. You've helped her.

But the reality is that, after some time, the same lady returns the stuff to that shopkeeper, and the shopkeeper and that lady split that money. This is how this whole scandal operates. That shopkeeper earned it too, and also that beggar.

And you didn't even know! Most beggars target foreigners. There are two reasons for it. Foreigners haven't seen this much poverty in their own country. So, they sympathize with them and give them more money. No. 2: they have a large pay capacity. Most foreign visitors to India have a higher earning capacity than average Indians.

So they give more money to these kids. Think: when a rickshaw guy takes 500 rupees for just 5 km, what would these people do with them? And in this industry, this isn't limited to just women; kids also do these things. acting like a disabled person. You must have seen such beggars, and seeing them would have given you the impression that this man is physically disabled. Either his hand or his leg is not working. But in reality, they don't have any physical disabilities.

They just act like they are disabled. So that they can elicit the most sympathy from the public, as well as as much money as possible. But in most cases, they don't have physical disabilities. I know what you are thinking.

If all these things are happening, what's the solution? What can we as citizens do? Well, three things. No. 1: Stop giving them money. See, try to understand this. When you give money to a beggar, you are indirectly doing these two things. By giving him alms, you motivate other beggars to beg too.

He sees that if he gets the money, I'll get it too! Secondly, if you help a person by giving them money, in that scenario too, that person won't do well in life. He'll do the begging again. Because if he gets money just by asking once, why should he work hard the next time? And this is extremely dangerous for society.

The more money you give to these people, the more they will ask for it. Secondly, make them resourceful. If you genuinely want to help someone, help them with food, shelter, clothing, or by providing them with a job! Give them a means—not money—through which they can make their lives better. Don't give people money to make them beg, but give them some means to support them and promote their abilities. Third, and most importantly, try to share this message. Share this message as much as possible. Don't give money, and don't let anyone else give money! Share this message as much as possible. The more people this truth reaches, the fewer people will put money in the hands of these beggars.

And when fewer people will give money to these beggars, then these mafias won't think to push these kids into all these things. When no one will give alms, people will start working instead of begging. And things will begin to improve. So, I request that you please don't encourage begging.
